Patient William Martin & The New York Times
Our patient William Martin spends quite a bit of time traveling and making a great contribution to the world around him! We are so proud of his many accomplishments. A photo William took in New York was published in the New York Times and on NBC. We wanted to share his story and his photograph. Great work William! We look forward to following your bright future!
"I was living on the top floor of a 19 story building in lower Manhattan, and happened to be first on the scene when they discovered a local NYU student had fallen from the roof down the back of the building. He had become lodged between two walls in the basement for several days, after being scared by a false fire alarm. I was photographing for my college newspaper, The Washington Square News, and after being on the scene for several hours was asked by a dozen news agencies the story surrounding the event. Many of the reporters were trying to press me into saying the student was on drugs. The New York Times reporter appreciated that I didn't fall into the reporter's trap and gave me a contact to submit my photos. Within a few hours they published one of my photos and I was quoted in several papers. NBC also published my photograph. " - William Martin
